Bob Matthews-Morning News
Bob was born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania with a great Dad and Mom and four, at that time, annoying sisters. Following a tumultuous high school experience at Notre Dame of Green Pond, Bob moved on to Northampton Community College in the mid-70’s where he decided to switch from a career in newspaper journalism, to broadcast journalism and communications.
After graduating with honors (believe it or not) from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, and using what he learned during a fabulous internship at WBQW Radio in Scranton, Bob returned to Easton and began his radio news/sports broadcasting career at WEEX-AM.
Two years later (1983), WVPO came calling and Bob began working full-time at WVPO and (now) 93.5 FM. Bob also worked at WYOU-TV in the early to mid-1990’s as an assignment desk editor, on-air hourly news update anchor and general assignment news reporter. Too pretty for television news, Bob did not make the full-time jump to that medium, but continued his award-winning radio career in the heart of the Pocono Mountains.
Bob continues to enjoy buffets and all-you-can-eat events; along with cherry pie, ice cream, good Italian and Thai food. Bob also loves the Minnesota Vikings, New York Mets and New York Rangers…and Fantasy Sports. |
